Fair Length . . . . . .44 miles _________________________________ Hwy. 38 is designed to allow easier access to the Big Bear area during the winter; it gets less snow and isn't as dangerous as Hwy. 330. The benefit to us is that in good weather it provides a much longer drive up or down the mountain than Hwy. 330 does, and is less likely to be filled with cars. Still, this is a popular road to get up and down the mountain with large trucks and campers who don't want to deal with the tight corners and steep climbs of the 330. |

The long way up the hill, but when there is little to no traffic this is a very nice drive. |
