Like Soledad Canyon, Boquet Canyon Rd. was another disappointment. On the map it looks great; at 24-miles long it gives you a chance to have some real fun before reaching then end and it looks to be a nice combination of tight, narrow canyon carving and some higher-speed at the northern end. Unfortunately civilization and development has crept in and now, like so many other great roads in southern California, there is usually too much traffic to really enjoy this road.

The southern section of road (green on the map) runs north out of Santa Clarita and has its fair share of houses, ranches, and cross-streets. Once you reach the canyon (blue) things greatly improve and traffic should have thinned out, but the road is so tight and narrow with no places to pass that if you get behind even one vehicle it can be difficult to get around. Also, there are quite a few houses packed into this narrow canyon, with cars parked against the edge of pavement and hidden driveways around many of the corners.

Once past the canyon the road straightens out and gains some elevation to a plateau past Boquet Reservoir. It is easier to pass out here but the road is fairly straight and there are still plenty of houses, ranches, and driveways. Eventually you reach the end of the road at Elizabeth Lake Rd. and can turn east towards the 14 freeway (about 9 miles) or turn west towards San Francisquito Rd. (about 6.5 miles) or Lake Hughes Rd. (approximately 12 miles). An alternate way to get to San Francisquito Rd. is to take Spunky Canyon Rd. (yellow on map), which intersects Boquet Canyon just north of Boquet Reservoir.
